The Center for Mind-Body Medicine

We are committed to helping reduce trauma and build resilience in our military service members, veterans and their families. Our model offers troops and veterans a supportive, non-stigmatizing approach to all the psychological and social problems and challenges that confront them–including PTSD and major depression. Our goal is to provide a high-quality training and ongoing support and supervision to health and mental health professionals who work with large numbers of troops and their families.

If you are wish to send a group of 5 or more participants at a discounted rate, or would like us to provide a customized training at a military base or VA medical center, please contact gtr@cmbm.org.

  • Attendance of the Initial Mind-Body Medicine Professional Training Program where health & mental health professionals learn the science and the skills that have been scientifically demonstrated to provide successful self-care, help relieve symptoms and enhance resiliency. Tuition also includes course materials, Best of Stress Management Kit (a set of exercises and a workbook to help you master the mind-body skills) and Dr. Gordon’s book Unstuck:Your Guide to the Seven Stage Journey Out of Depression which shows the effectiveness of mind-body approaches and guides you in understanding and using the approach and techniques taught in our training.
  • Healing Our Troops lunch meetings during the training to create a framework for the work, answer questions specific to military/veterans and facilitate networking – $30 (includes healthy lunch)
  • 10 hours of consultation with CMBM faculty following the training to help you practice the material and provide ongoing support as you return to your work – $600 (1 hour a week for 10 weeks via group conference call with CMBM faculty)

We hope that most providers will continue their work with us by attending the Advanced Mind-Body Medicine Training where they will learn to use our method to lead a group, be supported with individualized and interactive supervision by senior faculty, and receive guidance on integrating the model fully into their own work. Our on-going supervision program enables providers to refine their skills and deal with difficult challenges as they use our model with individuals, families, and groups in their own setting.
