Family Practitioner

My journey with The Center for Mind Body Medicine has been sacred, and years later, I have begun to realize that it is a gift that continues to evolve, and one that becomes even more precious the more you give it away to others.

I first became involved with CMBM in 2004, and am currently in the process of completing Certification. As a part of certification, I am teaching medical students at the University of Illinois, and have been invited by organizations to give lectures on mindfulness topics ranging from cancer care to healthy eating. I have also been interviewed on a number of occasions by the news media in regards to mind-body medicine and how patients can utilize it in their daily lives. In my clinical practice as a Family Practitioner, I have used mind-body medicine on a number of occasions to promote healing and wellness. Recently, I had the fortune to found both a diabetes clinic and an obesity clinic for our health center. The guiding principles for both of these clinics is self awareness and self care. The Center for Healthy Aging, launched by our hospital’s foundation, operates on the principle of healing communities and embodies a number of mindfulness philosophies.

To those considering taking a course with CMBM, I would highly recommend it. You will find the material revolutionary, and the concepts are sure to resonate within you. The concepts are easy to grasp, and the best part of the journey is in learning with other participants who come from around the country and world to take part in the seminars. Six years later, I am still in contact with many of the participants I met at my 1st training.

One truly masters the techniques by applying them on a daily basis to your own life. In doing this, I have found myself growing in spiritual dimensions I never dreamed of. It has also enabled me to become a better guide and lecturer on these topics. Once you begin the journey, you will never be the same, and you will always look back to the sacred moment when you made the decision to begin, and thank yourself for the wonderful gift. Good luck and Namaste.
