Param Dedhia, MD After obtaining his MD degree from Michigan State University, Dr. Dedhia completed his residency in general internal medicine at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center (JHBMC) followed by his fellowship in geriatric medicine at Johns Hopkins University. Among his primary teaching and research interests are the development and maintenance of healthy lifestyles, successful aging, and transitioning patients to improved health care. His interest in dietetics, nutrition, exercise, active lifestyles, and motivation arose from his obesity in childhood and from being overweight as a young adult. He holds an appointment as both a clinician and an instructor at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Clinically, he actively participates as a hospitalist (hospital ward-based physician) at the JHBMC campus and as part of the medical supervision team at the Johns Hopkins Weight Management Center. In addition to serving at the bedside, he lectures the medical residents and medical students on evidence-based medicine and interviewing skills related to obesity. He has won awards for both his teaching in the clinical setting as selected by medical residents and students and as the most valuable physician by his nursing peers and hospital staff at JHBMC. |
