Lilita Matison, MSW

Lilita Matison, MSWLilita is a clinical social worker that specializes in the integration of relaxation therapies, spirituality, and health. A graduate of the University of Michigan, Lilita’s training includes stress reduction, the psychology of health, and mind-body medicine.

At the University of Michigan, Lilita was the Administrator of the Complementary and Alternative Medicine Research Center, where she managed several National Center for Complementary & Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) grants. Lilita also held an appointment as the Co-Director of Stress Management Services at University of Michigan Preventive Cardiology, counseling individuals in reducing and managing stress, and offerring holistic, individualized care plans for adults.

She is a Fulbright "Senior Specialist" scholar and adjunct lecturer at the University of Latvia in Riga, teaching stress management courses to undergraduate and graduate level students.

Lilita is also the producer of the “Power of Relaxation” Audio CD, an educational and experiential resource that teaches individuals breathing, guided imagery, and other relaxation techniques.

Currently, Lilita facilitates Mind-Body skills groups and leads workshops in stress management.  She is also a volunteer at Children's Memorial Hopsital in Chicago and is a member of The Center for Mind-Body Medicine faculty.
