Kathie Swift, MS, RD, LDN Kathie Swift, MS, RD, LDN, is a Registered Dietitian/Licensed Nutritionist and serves as the Nutrition Director for the UltraWellness Center in Lenox. MA. She is the Co-Director of Food As Medicine, a professional training program sponsored by The Center for Mind Body Medicine in Washington DC. Kathie is also a nutrition consultant to Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health and helped develop their highly acclaimed Integrative Weight Loss Program.

Kathie is currently Chair-Elect for Nutrition in Complementary Care (www.complementarynutrition.org), a dietetic practice group representing dietitians in Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM). She serves on the Nutrition Advisory Board of the Institute for Functional Medicine and the editorial board for Integrative Medicine: A Clinician’s Journal.

For over a decade, Kathie was Nutrition Director for Canyon Ranch in the Berkshires and spearheaded the development of their functional medicine program. Kathie was selected as the first Registered Dietitian to be interviewed as Clinician of the Month in the 20-year history of the cutting edge series, Functional Medicine Update. She has participated in Nutrition Roundtables at the Harvard School of Public Health and is a faculty committee advisor to Georgetown University Medical School. She created “Nutritional Intelligence” which was presented at the White House Commission on Complementary and Alternative Medicine. Kathie is a scientific reviewer for articles on dietary supplements and other topics for Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine and the Journal of the American Dietetic Association.

Kathie has consulted for companies such as Johnson & Johnson and My Food Phone, and has helped to create innovative educational programs including Metagenic’s popular First Line Therapy. She is a contributor to numerous books including UltraMetabolism, UltraMetabolism Cookbook, Power Foods, Bobbie Brown Beauty Evolution, and Canyon Ranch Guide to Living Younger Longer. Her magazine articles and interviews have been featured in Healing Lifestyles and Spas, Body and Soul, Alternative Medicine, Experience Life, Yoga Journal, USA Today, Martha Stewart Living, CNN, and Epicurious, and more .

Kathie is also involved in programs to support the military including “Here at Home”, which welcomes returning veterans from war, and “Healing Our Troops” to support the health and healing of veterans sponsored by The Center for Mind Body Medicine.

Kathie loves to travel and is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys hiking, rollerblading, skiing and swimming. She also savors time in a relaxing yoga class or reading a great book, one of her all time favorites being Harvest for Hope by Jane Goodall.
