Beverly Pierce, MLS, MHD, RN, CHTP

Beverly Pierce, MLS, MHD, RN, CHTP Beverly Pierce, MLS, MA, RN, CHTP, currently directs the corporate library of the Advisory Board Company, an international healthcare research and consulting firm located in Washington, DC. She has managed the cancer programs of the Center for Mind-Body Medicine; the Inner Life Renewal Program at the Center for Spirituality and Healing, University of Minnesota; and the patient resource center at the Virginia Piper Cancer Institute, Minneapolis. She has a 25-year background in academic librarianship (MLS, Simmons College School of Library and Information Science), and additional degrees in Human Development (MA, St. Mary’s University of Minnesota) and Nursing (highest honors, Normandale Community College, Bloomington, MN). Her undergraduate degree is from Smith College.

She is a Certified Healing Touch Practitioner, with particular interest in the therapeutic use of energy medicine with cancer patients. She has studied, used and taught other complementary modalities, including guided imagery and vocal toning, which she combines in practice with Healing Touch. For 15 years she did extensive work in the field of childbirth education and labor support. She has published her research on the use of therapeutic vocal toning by pregnant and laboring women, and is co-investigator on other published studies.
