Our Collaborators

Part of CMBM’s mission is to create sustainable solutions that are taylored to meet the specific needs of collaborating institutions. By training the leaders within organizations, from hospitals to schools and government ministries, we are able to leave a lasting model. These relationships make it possible for our work—in mind-body medicine, nutrition, integrative cancer care and the healing of trauma—to be available to thousands of professionals, to whole populations in need, and to the next generation of health care professionals.

Some notable collaborators that The Center for Mind-Body Medicine has been fortunate enough to partner with include:

  • Georgetown University School of Medicine:
CMBM is committed to training the next generation of healthcare professionals. Our Mind-Body Skills Group model is employed in 15 different medical schools to date. Georgetown represents our first medical school partnership. At Georgetown, we have successfully trained 18 faculty who now run 10-12 Mind-Body Skills Groups a year for medical students. We are teaching faculty and in turn, students how to lessen stress, enhance compassion for one another and to be more hopeful in their future role as physicians. We have also partnered with other leading medical schools' residency programs, such as Michigan, Connecticut, Minnesota, Columbia, Duke, Washington and Texas at Galveston.
  • The Government of Kosovo:
CMBM’s work has become the cornerstone of Kosovo’s new, nationwide community mental health center (CMHC) system. Overall, we have trained more than 800 health and mental health professionals and our model is now taught in the country's medical schools. We provide ongoing consultation and support through our faculty to health and mental health providers.
  • The Charlotte Maxwell Complementary Clinic:
We have partnered with this dynamic and inspiring community of dedicated women volunteers who have diverse skills and experiences. They are healthcare practitioners and healthcare advocates who are unified in their goal of offering complementary alternative medical treatments to women with cancer who are underserved. We brought our CancerGuides® and Food as Medicine training programs to them in order to assist this organization in their noble work.
  • Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation:
In the last three years, we have trained 30 Komen fellows in our CancerGuides® training program. This foundation is providing cancer support on a national level. For more than 20 years, they have been a global leader in the fight against breast cancer through its support of innovative research and community-based outreach programs.
