Professional Training in Israel
From 2002 to the present, The Center for Mind-Body Medicine (CMBM) has trained over 200 Israeli leaders in health, mental health and education, and provided advanced training to a leadership team of 35 and a faculty of 20. Our model is being used in the Israeli army and air force; with police and Zaka (who recover body parts after terrorist attacks); in many dozens of hospitals and clinics that are focused on serving Israel’s low-income and disaffected populations, including Arab-Israelis, Bedouin, recent immigrants from Russia and Ethiopia, and settlers displaced from Gaza and anticipating displacement from the West Bank. It is also beginning to be taught and integrated into the curriculum of four of Israel’s major universities. Our program is also becoming a significant source of enhanced understanding and reconciliation between Israeli Jews and Arabs who are working with traumatized children. At our most recent training, 40% of participants were Israeli Arabs. Next Steps: Children’s Training: During the next 6 months, leaders in Israel will be trained in mind-body techniques specific to working with traumatized children and adolescents. We look forward to bringing our expert faculty together to benefit the children who have suffered profoundly during this conflict.

I was surprised to realize how effective these techniques are…”
