CancerGuides® Success!
Inspired by her experience with the Center’s CancerGuides® training program, Jackie co-founded and now leads the Cancer & Chronic Illness Center Foundation , whose mission is to make available integrative medicine and support services to cancer patients in Southern Nevada. After attending Food As Medicine, Jackie expanded the Foundation to include information and experience-based monthly nutrition classes for breast cancer patients, a project funded by the Susan G. Komen Foundation. As a certified massage therapist and Reiki master, Jackie has also created an integrative medicine program that includes medical massage, light touch therapy, breathing and guided meditation for oncology patients. At the Center’s Mind-Body Medicine and Advanced Mind-Body Medicine Professional Training Programs, Jackie experienced the Center’s unique small group model for teaching and learning stress management skills and self care, and has begun to lead powerfully supportive mind-body skills groups herself. “The Center is unique.
