Certification ProcessAfter attending both the Center’s Mind-Body Medicine Professional Training and Advanced Training you can apply to the Certification program. The program provides a broad-based curriculum that addresses major issues confronted in the clinical practice of Mind-Body Medicine. Graduates of this program will understand theory and practice underlying mind-body medicine, identify medical precautions and contraindications for self-regulation techniques, understand the psychological dimensions of chronic and life threatening illness, and learn to facilitate Mind-Body Skills Groups for people coping with physical and mental health issues. The beginning of the Certification program is an internship which typically includes 24 hours of Mind-Body Skills Groups on your own, and 18 hours of "supervision" with a Certification Supervisor by phone and/or email on process, planning, and other issues that come up in your groups. You will then return to a second Advanced Training. Finally you will complete three short papers to demonstrate a deep understanding of the model, the techniques, and the process. If you have completed the Professional and Advanced trainings, then click here for the Certification Application. |
